About Chado Ralph Rucci

Ralph Rucci is an American fashion designer known for couture-level construction and an exacting eye for detail. His label, Chado Ralph Rucci, built a reputation on that standard. As the business grew, the company needed its IT to hold up to the same standard, and that is what brought them to SRS in 2007.

The Challenge

When Chado Ralph Rucci came to us in 2007, their existing managed service provider wasn't keeping up. For a design house running on tight production and show calendars, IT problems aren't an inconvenience; they stall the work. The brief was blunt: get to zero downtime, zero computer issues, zero productivity loss, and zero spam, and keep it there.

What We Did

We took over IT and support across both the headquarters and the factory, with the goal of keeping the two locations connected and the systems quiet. The work broke down into a few areas.

Mobile and connectivity

We set up mobile access and data sync so staff at the headquarters and the factory were working off the same information without delay, rather than chasing files between sites.

Server and workstation upkeep

We maintained the servers and workstations directly, catching problems before they turned into downtime so the team could stay on their actual work instead of waiting on a fix.

Data and email backup

We put data and email backups in place so that if something failed, recovery was fast and nothing critical was lost.

Connecting the two sites

We tied the headquarters and factory together by upgrading the network, setting up secure remote access, and adding a VPN so people at either location could share files and coordinate over one protected connection.

Security

We rolled out centralized antivirus across the network and tightened the firewall and network settings, so the link between the two sites stayed locked down.

The Paris show

When Chado Ralph Rucci showed in Paris, we connected the team there back to the NYC headquarters in real time. Despite the distance, the two offices could talk and work together as the show ran, with no lag in feedback or coordination.

The Result

Chado Ralph Rucci got what they asked for: zero downtime, zero issues, zero productivity loss, and zero spam. Whether the team was at the headquarters, the factory, or a show in Paris, the systems stayed up and out of the way. That reliability is the payoff a design house actually needs from its IT, room to focus on the clothes.
